I may get a D in AP biology. I'm most likely signing to go to Pepperdine ( unless Northeastern ups my aid before 5/1). A counselor even said that I wont get rescinded because of a D but i cant focus. How much in trouble am I? What will happen if I get a D? Thanks

can i please get some advice

You probably won't get rescinded for the D if its the only problem. But if you're that worried you should
1. Stop with the senioritis and get that grade up. I got rejected by schools that are safeties for Northwestern and I manage to have the motivation to keep my grades up and above yours
2. Call up Pepperdine and explain

My school labels grades - A-B+ is honors, etc. D is "college certifying." I think you're probably okay, but DanielR is right. Start doing your work.

you have to pull by a C to guarantee no problems...i mean will it really be that hard to get a C? most teachers at our school know how hard it is for students and they ease up a little, talk to your teachers and see if you can do something t ohelp raise your grade.

youre good bro..im in a similar sit..all we have to do is pass our classes..and even if you have 1 D it wont do anything..its only if you fail multiple classes that they rescind you cuz they know how much it screws a person up..

its something like 12/4000+ at any given college get rescinded..the odds are definitely against getting rescinded man haha..

youre good.

Thinking like this is what makes you the 12/4000+ to be rescinded. Just doing 30 minutes of work per day (not necessarily even at home) surely would help you to get a C.

I don't know about Pepperdine specifically but several people I know have gotten D's in AP classes last semester senior year and have had no problems.
They went to really rigorous prep schools that have excellent reputations though so if you go to an easy HS you might want to watch it

Go talk to your teacher. I was in the same boat in AP Stat. I checked my grade online and had a 63. I asked what I needed to do to get a C and he said well I'm dropping your lowest test score so let's see what that does. Brought it up to a 69 with that then he said just get a C on our next test and do the project and I'm fine.

Believe me, teachers don't want to give seniors going to college a D in the second semester. I'm sure you and your teacher can work something out. Extra projects, retake a test or two, etc?

I don't know about Pepperdine, but I did hear from a Bowdoin College admissions officer that Bowdoin has only rescinded 4 applications in its entire history.

thanks for the advice fam
