Should I be worried? I am applying RD.

No.

MIT is going through bags and bags of mail right now, so it’s very likely that your report is sitting in a pile of other secondary school reports, waiting to be entered into the system and filed in your application file. And at this specific moment, I think the mail staff are off for the holidays, so they aren’t entering application materials this week.

There will be a point in approximately mid-January when someone in the admissions office (usually Matt) will post a blog entry saying “we’ve gotten through all the mail.” At that point, if your secondary school report is still listed as not processed, you can send another copy via mail or via fax.

This is definitely not a time to worry – MIT is going through a lot of mail right now, and it takes time. And if your report somehow didn’t make it to MIT, they will give you the opportunity to send another copy.

All right, thanks!
