Selectively Submit SAT II scores?

Ok… I know that I can decide to withhold either the SAT or ACT score from them if I want but does that same concept also apply for the SATIIs, or if I send in two of them does the third SATII show up as well? P.S, how many SATIIs does Brown require?

Once you decide to send SAT scores, you automatically send all your scores, including SAT IIs. (Unless you have tests with Score Choice.... ahhhh those were the good old days! lol)

Brown requires 3 SAT IIs, yes, even with the new SAT. I'm not sure if they require Math, but you should definitely take Math 1C or 2C, along with 2 other random subjects (since Writing is no longer an option).

Yes, they see all of them. Fortunately, I don't think they count much against you. I sent mine and there were 5 or 6 (don't remember if I got to withold one of them) and 3 were above a 700 and one of them was like a 540. I think they seriously only consider the top 3.

5 or 6?!! That's a lot of wasted Saturday mornings! lol.

I started taking them as a freshman when I finished latin. And then after that I took the appropriate ones for courses I had just finished. So they were all spread out. Besides, I kind of like SATIIs. They're not as long as SATs, and I feel like you have much more control over what you get. And they're kind of like games. Bubbles! (I can only say this because I'm done now.)

I'm one of those people who obsesses over bubbles. Like, I'll get really disturbed if 20 questions go by, and there aren't any C's. And I love when the letters go in a row and make a diagonal. And when it goes ABCDCBA, and you get a cool arrow. If we have any scantron-type tests after APs, I'm definitely screwing it and having fun with my bubbles!

Edit: 500th post!!! :D

I always obsess if there are 3 in a row or more of the same letter. I go back and check all the problems, thinking there must be a hitch somewhere in those three. Heck, if my APs are hard enough, I might just make fun designs anyway! God, calculus is going to eat me.

Calc is actually the only test I'm actually semi-confident about. Although if we get a logistic model... arghhh! On the other hand, I'm uberscrewed for French. Je ne peux pas parler francais.

I think I can do English and probably bio. Calc though...I feel like I know how to do basically everything, but the way they ask the questions, I just don't know how to start or if I know how to start I don't know how to finish or where to go, and it's just very discouraging. And since I have no idea how well I have to do to get a 4 or 5, it's very hard to measure just how badly I'm doing.

Apparently, the BC kids do really well on the AP. About 85% get 5's, a few other people get 4's, and 1 person gets a 3. Each year, in fact, one person gets a 3. ....Argggh! The agony! The peer pressure!

Any particular reason for taking English?

Heh, to be that one 3...

In my AB calc class, most people get about a 2 or 3, a few get 4s, and one in a few years gets a 5. Actually, this one girl did a few years ago, and she was wicked good at math, and then she flunked out of college because she basically never left her dorm room. So sad.

Oh, and yes, English. There are several reasons.

First, if I don't take the AP, I have to come in at the end of the year and take a final, which is just a pain.

Second, my teacher has high hopes, and I feel like I owe it to her to take the test because I think I can do well.

Third, I expected AP Eng to be the best class of high school (due to the awesome teacher and subject matter) and it just...wasn't. It's impossible to get a discussion going with lazy classmates who don't read and didn't do the summer reading, and who just don't care. I want to take the test to kind of prove to myself that this course wasn't a waste.

Those are good reasons....

My situation is a little different:

1) Seniors with a B or better in honors/AP courses get exempt from finals no matter what.

2) My teacher is an absolute witch. She owns me every day, and she's so underhanded about it! She has this really high-pitched, sweet-sounding voice, but there's this biting sarcasm underneath it all! And it's really a shame because I've had wonderful English teachers as far back as I can remember.

3) Our discussions aren't bad... Mostly I took AP English rather than Honors English because my guidance counselor pressured me into it. But I really do like English, yet because of my teacher, the class is just such a waste....

So, in conclusion (the worst way to finish an essay but I love it and do it anyway!! mwahahaha!! ;)), I'm not taking either AP English exam!!! I really hope I get to take a good English class at Brown though. I'll feel a lot better about the subject.

I'd love to take a class on Sherlock Holmes... Ah, the coolness.
