In my Wolverine Access>Application Status>View Application Data all of my information is there. In my personal information on the top right it has two categories, "Self Reported Residency" and "U of M Determined Residency." I live in Michigan, and I have for years now and I am a resident. Under "Self Reported Residency" it says In State. Under "U of M Determined Residency" it says Out of State. I was just a little confused there, and I was just curious to know whether they messed up, or whether it hasn't been changed, or what. I just sent in my app last Friday. Any ideas as to why? Thanks. Maybe everyone's is like that, but just to be sure.

If there is any question about your residency you will need to fill out a residency application. We moved back to Michigan the summer before my d started grade 10 and had to fill it out.
Website lists reasons why you’d have to fill out the form:
[Residency - Office of the Registrar](Residency | Office of the Registrar)

Define resident: Are you an American citizen living in Michigan for years now?
Or are you a Permanent Resident with green card?

Or is your family here on another form of work Visa, eg. HB1, and do you NOT hold a green card (or American citizenship…)

Are your parents together, or split, and if split, does one of them live in a different state?

All of these things could contribute to the residency determination. Since there is an extraordinary difference in tuition cost, you will want to contact the residency office immediately and get to the root of what triggered this classification.

It takes several weeks, often 8 - 12, to get submitted evidence approved to change to “In-State” residency. You’ll want to start now!
Best wishes!
