Semester 1 Grades for Senior Year?

Do the UCs request that you report your senior year grades? Cause I'm extremely worried..... I may have a D+ on my semester 1 transcript for AP Calculus BC. I've NEVER had a grade on a final transcript worse than a B+ in my life and I was freaking out about even receiving a C, but my final was worth 30% of my grade and I totally bombed it.. I've been a total wreck and the worst part is I'm 1.4% away from a C. I feel like I've ruined everything and that I won't be accepted anywhere cause I only applied to top tier UCs.. like I've been in the top 5% of my class all four years and now I'm freaking out. I tried emailing my teacher but he hasn't replied and grades are due tomorrow, and since I'm on winter break I can't talk to him in person. I've met all the math requirements already, so should I report it right away to all the UCs anyway? For example, Davis says on the website that students should report "a D or F received in any a-g coursework your senior year" but since my a-g requirements are already met without this class is it still necessary? I realize that's an absurd question and that I should probably still report it but I'm just a total wreck about this. Has anyone heard of any applicants with a similar situation whose application WASN'T rescinded? When we get back I plan to talk to my teacher and if he isn't willing to budge with the percent difference then I guess I ruined everything... I have 3 other AP classes with A's in all of them and this is just so devastating, and I've seen some threads that say that the UCs only see the senior year grades upon request, so is there a chance they won't see it? I plan on keeping the class the full year, I'm not going to drop but I'm not sure that makes any difference.. I just can't believe this has happened.. any advice or help from anyone? What should I do?

UCs do not get or use senior year grades to determine admission except that they may specifically ask some, who are usually on the borderline for admission, to provide mid-year grades in Jan or Feb before the admission decision is made. Absent that specific request, your admisison decision will be based on grades through junior year in high school.

However, that does not end the stress. As with all colleges, any admission decison provided is conditoned on receipt of grades at the end of the school year. After you finish high school in June, you must send a final transcript with all grades from high school, The UCs will then review that to assure your grades are still acceptable and if not they can rescind your admission at that time. One D in a course needed to meet an a-g requirement can be deadly because it could mean you have not completed the course requirements for admission. But there have also been reports that a D in a senior year course other than an a-g required course can possbly result in recission. Every decision is an individual one and one D in a course other than a required a-g course is not an automatic recisision but it can create a risk. The Davis request on the D or F grade specifically refers to a-g courses needed to meet the admission rerquirements but you should probably discuss your issue with a counselor because waiting to tell the college of your bad grade until June means you keep the recission risk alive until then with the result that you could end up with no college to attend come August.

@drusba‌ I planned on scheduling an appointment with my counselor the morning that we get back, I just didn’t want to report the grade right away given the chance that my teacher was willing to give some extra credit to make up the percent difference. However, I still haven’t received a reply to my email and I’m not sure that anything can be done after grades are sent out. I have As in every other class, and like I said I have an AP filled schedule but I still don’t think that makes any difference. Thanks for explaining the process though, I guess I’ll just have to hope for the best

So not that any cares, but just for future reference I ended up with a C- in the class on my first semester transcript!
