Sending in another essay?

I already have sent in my common application to a few schools, but I have another essay that is short, amusing, and very unique. It's about my experience asking President Bush for help in my high school election. It's only one page long.

Would schools (Northwestern and Duke in particular) mind if I sent it to add to my application file? I think it would improve my app considerably, but I don't know if the colleges would consider it. Would they hold it against me (not following instructions ... etc.) if I sent it in?

I would If I were an adcom. You make me read one extra essay.

bump ... any other thoughts?

You can call them and ask... I think, if you wanted to submit this essay, you should have attached it to the Additional Info section of the Common App?

bump ... has anyone done this?

CALL AND ASK. What are you asking us for?

Some schools say that you can send in supplemental essays or something like that... I would think that if they didn't want to take the time to read your essay, they would just choose not to read it.

But yeah. Just call and ask - then you won't have to worry about it either way.
