During orientation it seemed like it would be a real pain to wait in line to deposit a scholarship check. So do I send it to the cashier's office and that's it? Do I send it to the central or north campus one? Is there a chance of this check to get lost before processing? If so I'll spend my time in line as long as I know it's done.

just do it the first week of class. the total waiting time in line is 0 minutes. use the office on N Univ. Drive

Cool, thanks. I'll feel much safer doing it that way.

The scholarships that I have are sent directly to the financial aid office from the people that gave them to me. I never see the money myself. If it's renewable, maybe try asking the donors if they would mind sending the money to the Office of Financial Aid for you in the future. My funds have never been lost (though I do still check to make sure they have been received... just watching out for myself). However, if you yourself have the check, I'd also wait to physically hand the check to them. That way, there is no doubt that they received it and didn't get lost.
