Hey, I got a few questions: when can I send my ACT score in (how early)? Also, is it ok to, say, send an ACT score in in February (automatically sent in), then retake it in june and send that in to the same colleges if it's better..if so, what do I need to do? Do I need to contact the admissions.. And, again, if so, what should I say? Thanks

Assume you are a junior. Scores will be due next fall when you apply. With any test you can send scores to colleges as part of applying for the test and the colleges will hold them and have an open application file with those scores for you when you apply in fall, so application will be matched with scores. Economically that is the better option because you have four free sends per test. However, there is no real reason to send scores now and you may want to know what those scores are before you start shipping them off to colleges. To later send an ACT score after score comes out costs you $10 per college. Either way you go, you don’t have to contact anyone at the college. If you want ACT to automatically send scores to four colleges just include them in your application for the test.

So they have my ACT scores now and they will be valid when I apply in the fall for the 2012-2013 year? Also, I will probably be sending my second ACT score in because it’ll probably be Better Assume I’m sending that in in, say, June. So will my new ACT “override” my old ACT? Or will they be able to look at both? So you say not to call . . . Will they know automatically that i want them to look at me new score. Or will they be like "oh hey, he sent a second score in. There’s some problem? Thanks for your help!

SeNd** ACT ScORE**

Yes, if you send an ACT (or SAT) score from test you take during your junior high school year as one of your free sends, college will have it when you apply in fall 2011 for 2012 freshman class and when they receive application in fall they will match it to your score. If you send mutltiple ACT tests scores, colleges will have them and then they differ as to how they will treat them and you do not make any specific requests for which test will be considered: most will then use for admission that particular test which has the highest composite score; some “superscore” ACT tests by using the highest section scores from the multiple tests to give a new composite score that is considered for admission (e.g., score 26M, 30E, 32R, and 25S in one test and 30M, 28E, 28R, and 30S in another and scores considered for admission will be 30M, 30E, 32R, and 30S).
