I don't know why I just thought of this but I filled out the application for the national merit special scholarship consideration and I don't remember there being anything in the packet about sending SAT scores. Did I just miss something and really do have to send them?

I sent in my scores for national achievement so I don't understand why I wouldn't for this one. And if so does anyone know where I would send them? i.e. national merit corporation or someplace else

Are you saying that you already sent your scores to NMCorp for National Achievement purposes? If so, NMCorp has your scores…why would you need to send them again?

for example, those who make NASF and NMSF don’t send their scores twice to NMCorp…just once.

Our son was 2010 Special Scholarship winner. There is no requirement for SAT test score.
The winner is selected by NMSC based on Corporate application, PSAT test score, Special Scholarship application, high school transcript (grade 9 up to grade 12), Personal essay, and school recommendation from the principal. That is all you need.

Thank you for your clear response gongho.
It seems that I don’t need to send them so I guess I won’t for now unless I hear otherwise.

Yes I did send them to national achievement. When sending them, national achievement and national merit are actually two different options so I assumed they were in different locations (maybe I’ll go look back at it now). Hopefully it does mean national merit has them too just in case.

i know this doesn’t have anything to do about the question asked, but do any of you know when they will notify winners of the special scholarships? thank you :)

The letter we got this year says (in most cases) awards will be mailed to the winners in March and April. Those not selected for awards will be notified in May.

March 9 will be the date that NMSC starts to mail out the Special Scholarship since it is sponsored by corporate. They mail Special Scholarship winner and National Merit corporate sponsor scholarship winner at the same time.
