Sending scores to colleges...

Hello,
Here is my issue. I plan on retaking the ACT later this month. I took the ACT back in late April, and I received a poor score. When I signed up, it asked what colleges to send to. I just filled in my top 3 colleges because it was free, why not. Now, I am retaking it, hoping to do much, much better, and once again, when I registered, I put down my top 3 colleges, it was free. If I do much better, will they receive my score or do they disregard the second one? Also, do they look at the one you send you from ACT or the one that is listed off the application? I haven't applied to any schools yet as I was told to wait until I retake the ACT and get the score back. Thanks

The schools that you indicated in April have already received those scores. If you plan on taking the test in October, you may be able to remove the schools from the list. Call ACT to be certain, otherwise the schools will see the scores from both of your tests. Once the scores are sent there is no turning back. It is up to the College Admission Officers to determine how they will weight the lower scores in their decision. Hopefully, they will be kind and only consider your top composite. I know they will not mix and match from different tests, but who really knows. Good luck on your next exam : )
