Sending Scores

What schools are you guys using for your 4 free score recipients??? I'm a junior and just took the March SAT. Has anyone sent scores in their junior year?? Do the colleges that you have your scores sent to respond at all??? I'm not really sure if they even would look at someone's SATs who hasn't even applied yet, but i figured it shows interest so it would be a positive...

Well, I'm a senior, but I can tell you from my experience that one of my schools (Columbia) cataloged every score that I ever sent them, and another (Brown) required that I resubmit test scores that I had already submitted before filing my application. So, it never hurts to send those scores out--they're free, after all, and some of your schools may count them. Just be sure to follow up if/when you do apply to make sure that your scores got to each college.

yeah thanks

did they send you any letters junior year after you sent your scores like "thanks for ur interest etc"

buuuump a rizzle

No, they didn't...I'm pretty sure that the schools that do catalogue your scores basically just put them into a huuuge database under your name and erase them once the app deadline passes if you didn't send in an app. At least, that's my best guess. I did get mailings from Columbia, but I think that is just a marketing thing, not because of my test scores. I got mailings from MIT, Harvard, UPenn, Stanford, etc. and I never had any contact with those schools, whereas I had to sign up to the Yale mailing list, like, three times before they ever sent me anything.
