I was named the captain of my school's swimming team today. I was wondering if this is worth updating admissions; I have no clue if it is significant enough. Also, is it even too late for me to email my regional officer? Thanks.

Honestly, just do it. There’s no way it will hurt you.

Anyone want to confirm/provide additional advice? I’m in a similar situation and I’m thinking there may be no point in bothering them.

Sending it in can’t possibly hurt. Worst case scenario: they won’t read it in time.

^ What I would say as well

I agree with others who say send it in. Although you don’t want to be a pest, you do want the admissions rep for your area to remember that you exist. Sending a news item is a way of being visible and confirming your enthusiasm about Yale. It also suggests qualities of initiative and confidence, which Yale values more than quiet passivity.

I sent to to the questions email. Should I have sent it to my admissions rep?

If you were already selected it will not hurt. If Yale is deciding now, it can only help. If the decisions have been made and if you have been defered (in the unlikey event) again it can only help for regular admissions.

I know Yale wanted some additional information that was mentioned in my son’s application which did not reach Yale as of last week from him.
