<p>Recently I've won 1st place on regional English comp, and as a result I won 4 year full stipend to one college in my town. </p>
<p>Do you think I should notify my schools about my award or would it not really be a good idea to tell them about a competition that got me into some other college?
Should I send an update just saying I won 1st place without mentioning the scholarship?</p>

<p>what can it hurt? if they were already going to accept you it wouldn't keep them from doing so and if they weren't it could help but whether it does or not, do it and then you won't have to think about it anymore.</p>
<p>Just mention the award. The scholarship is irrelevant to anyone but the college that gave it to you.</p>

I remembered my other competition is coming up on wednesday.
Should I send an update on my eng.comp. now or should I wait until wednesday to see if wednesday one is going to be anything important to report so I could send them one update instead of two separate ones?</p>
<p>They won't hold you winning a scholarship against you since you did not determine the nature of the prize. But all you have to do is say I won #1 place in such and such competition for my essay (or poem or whatever). You may want to send them notification immediately (by fax or email) since for all you know the college is reviewing your file right now or will be shortly. Then update them with the results of the next competition when you receive them, assuming you have positive news to report.</p>

<p>Well, it's not really that big of a deal since it's only a regional competition in my country (not USA) but 1st place always looks good on apps :p
