I just got elected senior class vice president about 2 weeks ago.
How good does senior class Vice president look? Is it valued at all? Is it a form of leadership? Is it an EC?
It is a position with a lot of responsibility and work at my school where it’s more than just a title.
Why would it not be a good thing? lol
It is a very nice activity but it won’t get you into a college you are not academically qualified to attend.
@privatebanker How much is it valued?
It’s a leadership role. You were selected by your fellow students so you must be likeable.
But think of painting a picture and someone asking you how important a particular color is?
It’s all important because it is painting a picture of you. But anyway color ihas to work with all the other colors and end up looking like something interesting.
Some schools like Georgetown really like class leaders. But that’s comparing it to other 4 0 Uw sals and Val’s. So depending on your other attributes or colors it can definitely be helpful.
But no ec in or itself. Short of being a celebrity inventor or published author will move somebody too far above the competition. But it can help separate nearly identical applications. If that makes sense.
Yes, it is an EC. Yes it is leadership…try to get some accomplishments in the fall semester so you can include them on your college App.
it is one thng to say: Senior Class President, Grade 12
and another to say
Senior Class President, Grade 12: Organized Food drive for Community, Raised record amount for Senior Prom
@bopper How is class president compared to vice president? I’m asking because I’m class vice president.
@goodperson200
Depending on the position and school, marginally better.
same deal…try to accomplish something
Just the title senior class president or senior class VP is nice, but a title alone isn’t a huge deal. Keep in mind that there are over 35,000 high schools in America – which means 35,000 senior class presidents, 35,000 senior class vice presidents and tons of other officers of different clubs. The title will not be as important as your accomplishments.
@happy1 I’ve already been a class officer for this school year, so it’s gonna be all the same stuff again next year. The only difference is the title of my position. I’ve done a lot of accomplishments as one this year, so how would this look even though the current position isn’t as “good looking” as the one I will hold next school year?
Please stop worrying about how something will look. If you want to do it, do it. If you don’t, then don’t. But don’t do some activity because you think it may look good.
The class president will get into Harvard. You will get into one of your state Us, but not the flagship.
JUST KIDDING! Stop worrying and do the job you were elected to do. Try to have fun doing it, too.
