Senior grades

I am almost finished with my application but i am starting to get scared that i wont get into barnard. English is not my best subject and is Barnard’s expertise. Thinking that the more challenge i bring to myself the better i will get at it i took Ap English Lit and I am currently in the C/C- Range and this is worrying me because my SAT scores are already low enough. I am wondering does Barnard see the mid-year report before or after you get in. EDers are so lucky they arlready found out do you know how hard its going to be to wait until APRIL!

They do consider your mid-year scores for the application, I believe.

I looked at some of your other posts and see you were accepted to Fordham, EA, so that is a great option. And I am sure Barnard will consider that you have challenged yourself and that you are not a native speaker of English, so that will work in your favor, I suspect. Obviously, though, I cannot say if you will or will not get it.

At least you know you have another great option already in the bag!

yeah i was accepted at fordham, that tranquilized me a little because it is my second choice. But yeah i hope Barnard accepts me, that will be amazing.

thanks for the reply =]

I looked at your other posts as well, and saw that you are an immigrant and getting your English teacher to write you a rec. While a C/C- isn't great, your English teacher's rec, if it emphasizes how English isn't your first language but how you still challenged yourself, as churchmusicmom said, will look favorable. That being said, don't let that grade slip any farther and try your hardest to bring it up to B/B-. Good luck with everything!
