In my first marking period my grades have dropped a bit. I’m taking calc 3 in high school and that grade is currently an 85. My overall grade has dropped by 3 percent. I wanted to know much this would hurt my chances for a high level school like Georgia tech?
It is unlikely that a single B will be the determining factor between acceptance and rejection.
However they do look at overall grades for the first two mp of senior year. Would a 3% drop to 92-93 terribly affect my chances at some of top colleges?
A 93 is still an A. Classes get harder as they get more advanced and often have less extra credit/grade inflation opportunities. Colleges know this. But a 96 to a 93? Really? I wouldn’t dwell on it.
Now, if your grades drop, but nobody else’s from your school applying to the same colleges, then a college might wonder.
