Senior year 1st semester grades

So I just got my grades, and I have only one grade worse than a B, which is a C in AP Chemistry. I'm taking 5 APs, and a required religion class. Considering that I'm applying to highly selective schools like CMU, BC, NYU, URoch, Brandeis, Tufts, etc., could this be a deal breaker? My ranking is still unchanged, and my cumulative gpa stayed exactly the same. (3.4 unweighted, 3.7 weighted)

Considering my grades were already subpar, would colleges deny me because of my 1st semester senior grades? Someone help me with this, because I'm very, very nervous right now.

Hopefully you also have other schools besides CMU, BC, NY, URoch, Tuft, etc. Those schools are highly selective and your unweighted GPA seems low unless your school if very competitive and your SATs or ACTs are high (> 2200?). A “C” in any class is never good for these schools, even if AP, so hopefully you have amazing teacher recommendations, high leadership qualities, are an athlete, or stand out in some artistic way. I would say your 1st semester grades do no help your situation, and you may have over reached, but I don’t know all of your stats to make an informed judgement.

Thanks for the reply! I applied to all the UCs, except for merced. My SAT score is a 1920, and a 1980 superscored. My subject tests: Math II 700, U.S. History 640, and Literature 620. I understand that all my grades and test scores are below average, and aren’t competitive at all for those schools I previously listed. But I am certain that my essays/short answers are pretty good and unique, as I have spent a LOT of time and effort working on all of them and have received only positive feedback. I also believe that I have decent ECs, such as tutoring english and literature overseas, helping children in New York chinatown, 100 hours community service in New Orleans, etc.

All I want to know is, do I have a shot at any of these schools? And judging upon my stats, which UCs are considered safeties for me?
