Somehow, I always thought that senior year 1st semester quarter grades would be reported to colleges for ED/EA applications, but my high school counselor didn’t include them on my transcript. I got some B’s in Junior year so my grades’ trend became downward from Sophomore to Junior. In order to show my upward trend from Junior to Senior, I want my ED college to see my senior year 1st semester quarter grades.
Is it normal that high schools don’t report senior year 1st semester grades or is it just my high school’s policy? If not reporting quarter grades is normal, is there any way I can show mine?? Please advise!
My kids’ HS does not add any grades to the transcript during senior year, nor do they recalculate GPA or class rank until the final, year-end report card (even though some classes are only a semester and are complete as of January). The transcript, whether it’s sent on September 1 or March 1, will look the same: course and grade history for three years, and just course listing for senior year.
What they WILL do is send 1st quarter and/or 1st semester grades to colleges who request them. You may want to ask your GC to do that for you.
I asked my GC but she said she wouldn’t do since that’s the policy of our high school and it would not be fair to other students if she does only for me. Any advice?
