Senior Year Grades not sent?

Agh I’m kinda worrying because they haven’t asked my counselor for my first quarter grades (or at least he hasn’t submitted them) – does that mean something? I had really poor grades that period (2 Bs, 1 C) so maybe my counselor chose not to send them (but I only talked to him once, MONTHS ago so I don’t see why he’d do me that favor)… ??

The majority of high schools in the US are on the semester system, so this is not an issue for most applicants. Admissions Offices everywhere (not just at Yale) do not ask students or GC’s for quarter grades, they just expect your GC to automatically send them when available. If your GC hasn’t submitted quarter grades to Yale for you, or any other student who applied to Yale from your high school, it’s probably a non-issue. If you are admitted in the SCEA round, your GC must sent Yale a mid-year report which will include the grades you are worried about. My advice, as there is nothing you can do about the issue, I would not spend time worrying about it.

I’m on the quarter system but I thought you only had to send the first trimester/semester (not quarter)

^^ Guidance Counselor’s have the option of updating Admissions about senior year grades by submitting the OPTIONAL REPORT prior to submitting the mid-year report or final report. Some high school’s do this, others don’t: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1ND-R75zMC0RVg0a2FZM1VzMlk/view
