Senior Year Grades?!?!?!

I'm wondering how much my grades/schedule for my senior year will affect admission decisions. My cumulative GPA (frosh-junior) is a 3.2, but 1st semester senior year I have a 3.8 UW (with 2 APs, 1 honors and 1 advanced class).

How much will these grades actually count for? It is by far my best year yet, but I'm aware that senior year doesn't affect one's actual gpa.

bumpinggggg

First semester of senior year counts toward your GPA; after that, it freezes. So your 3.8 will help you with colleges you haven’t submitted transcripts to yet, and your overall class rank. Good job!

When your GPA “freezes” is actually a matter of your high school’s policy. My kids’ school, for example, calculates GPA and ranks the class only once: at the end of junior year.

But, this is of no consequence for climactic. What matters for you, climactic, is that colleges and universities that require a mid-year report will get updated grades for the fall semester of senior year, and they absolutely will take them into account.

in my school’s case, gpa freezes after junior year as well. even if it didnt, all my apps were due before second semester ended, which is why i was wondering how much these count even though theyre not part of my gpa

thanks for the help guys
