Senior Year Schedule Questions

Hi all! I am a long-time thread stalker and first-time poster going into my senior year of high school. The college admissions process is very intimidating to me even with the wealth of knowledge provided here on CC!!

My first question is about my senior year schedule. Currently I have:

AP Latin
AP Physics (double period)
AP Lit
AP Calc BC
CCP Psych // Economics (1st/2nd semester)
Study Hall // Public Speaking
Early Dismissal

I’m really not interested in having a study hall in my schedule because I haven’t for the first 3 years of high school and been fine.

I was wondering if it would be worth it to add in AP French 5? I love love love learning French but I absolutely despise the teacher and there will only be 2 other people in the class (because of the teacher - usually there are at least 15!).

I feel like it might be beneficial to me, especially if it helps me test out of a language requirement in college, which Latin might not apply for. I also think my current schedule might not look rigorous enough for selective schools with only 4 “real” classes and public speaking/early dismissal.

I think AP French would be a great addition.

Another suggestion is an AP or Honors history course if it is offered. I’m surprised your school would offer a class with only 2 or 3 students.

@firstwavemom That’s the funny part - they haven’t ran AP Euro or AP World at my school in a long time because <5 kids would sign up for them so those aren’t an option. I’ve already taken APUSH and AP Gov

Instead of study hall, why not take a fun elective?
