Seniors and College admissions

So I am going to be a senior in high school next year. I signed up for 3 AP's first semester because my school is on the quarter system and I can get an entire semester of a class done by the beginning of november. Anyways, I would love to boost my gpa before sending in college apps but I was wondering if doing well in that first quarter will actually count for the gpa I send in? does anyone know?

Usually you send your rank and gpa that accounts for grades up to the end of junior year. Other than that, it’s pretty much up to your school; If they have all the grades in the system, including updated GPAs and ranks, and are ready to send them in an “official transcript” by November, you can send that. I’d say the vast majority of schools don’t do this and student just send their GPA through junior year.

Still, many schools will require mid-year and/or final transcript which will include the rest of your senior year grades.
