I already sent an SIR for Berkeley, but I'm having second thoughts about Berkeley. I might want to go to UCSD because I want to go Pre-med. What would happen if i submitted an SIR to both UCSD and UC Berkeley but go to SD instead. Would Berkeley like disown me for the rest of my life?

well, if you're not going there, then why would you care if they disown you?

If you send SIR to both UCs, both UCs will not take you once they find out you have sent two.

You may only send in one SIR.

You can always just go to Berkeley, see if you like it, and transfer if you feel it isn't right for you.

Not to UCSD.......and it's hard to transfer.

I'd say UCSD is easier for pre-med. But you never know. Go into college and explore your options before deciding what you want to do with your life. It's not impossible to get into med school from Berkeley either.

I think what matters most is which college you like best.

Also...if you already sent in your SIR I don't know if there's much else you could do. I think you're set.

"You may only send in one SIR."

Yup. You should've seen the little disclaimer thingy when you sent your SIR to Cal, saying that if you send multiple SIRs, all UCs will rescind your admission. Berkeley is a fine choice. Just think, you can drive 5 minutes to get a cheap supply of gourmet chocolate during finals at the Scharffen Berger factory! Where else can you do that? No where! :)

could I call them and tell them I sent it by accident?

..........I totally doubt it. There are multiple forms for you which must click "Submit" in order to send your SIR. Plus, it would make you look incredibly lame. Don't do it.

Berkeley has a much better reputation overall than UCSD.

Seriously, just suck it up and go. This is probably just cold feet from having to make an important, life-altering decision, thinking, "Did I make a mistake?"

It's done and you really can't do anything about it.

I didn't send in the SIR money or SLR's yet. Do they still know? Do I still HAVE to go to Cal?

Oh shoot, I'm in the same boat, but I want to go to UCLA now. Gah!!! Help!

Why can't people transfer between the UC's? That seems a little unfair.

I still want to look at all my choices before I pick CAL

Call Cal's admission office up and ask if its possible to switch to another school. Asking won't hurt and if they disregarded the SLR you signed, then it will be fine. Just relate the situation to them and they probably won't force you to attend Cal.

Oh geez, most people would choose UCB over UCSD in a heartbeat.

that's what I did at first and I sent in the SIR form immediately... but I heard Pre-Med at UCSD is just about the same as Berkeley and that Berkeley has BAD grade deflations. I am reconsidering... not totally changing... I don't want to be FORCED to go to a college that I might end up no liking

I didn't send in the money and I can't sign up for CalSO yet because they said I didn't finish my SIR. Does that mean I did not officialy send in the SIR because I didn't pay?

Yeah, I'm strongly considering UCLA over UCB OOS, since there are more opps for students who want to do med school at UCLA. The reason I sent the SIR in so quickly was because I was a Spring Admit, and I thought I should send in my app for the FPF ASAP to guarantee a spot, and be able to cancel it later if I decided to choose UCLA>

It's 12:11 right now and I want to go to sleep.

Well you can call them and figure it out and said you made a mistake and meant to check ucsd or something. Try to put a personal touch on it and see if anyone at the registrar can help you. I doubt it will work but its worth a shot.

Anybody have their phone number? Is my reason a legit one?
