I got a likely from Columbia... recently I got this packet from them about their science programs. A letter from a student there in environmental science included her joy at my tremendous "accomplishments in the sciences." And this packet also included a science magazine.

Problem is, I didn't put any sciences down as a major choice, nothing in my app indicates I'm interested in science--in fact, I'm not even taking a science class this year!!! And my prospective major on the app is in the humanities. But the packet was sent to my name, at my address... did someone just mess up? Or do they send this to everyone? those of you in the humanities or social sciences--have you gotten anything of this sort?

Should I ask NOW for the stuff they send to humanities majors, or just wait till I'm officially accepted? I want those humanities materials, but I don't want to jeopardize my admission or anything.

I’d just wait 8 days. You’ll have plenty of time to look at stuff once you get accepted.

I guess… that’s what my mom thinks I should do.

I’m just curious about how they made this mistake, and what the humanities materials said.

I got the same materials and a likely as well but I am heavily into science (submitted a research paper).

Hmmm. Yeah, I’m definitely NOT into science. I wonder what the humanities materials were like… I guess I’ll just wait until I get my official acceptance. But anyone who’s a humanities person wanna chime in?

I gt the same materials but I am a science major I was really happy-- liked the science materials.

Awwww man. Come on, anyone who applied in Social Studies or Humanities???

I was a little peeved. The letter’s all like, we were impressed by your accomplishments in the sciences and I’m like, what accomplishments!!! Haha…

I got the same things as you did. However, I am a science person who submitted a paper.
