I'm waitlisted as well!
My theory: they want the better candidates (like all of us, who care enough about SEO to write on this message board about it!) to secure internships on their own so they will no longer need SEO for placement. I bet they waitlisted many if not most first-rounders since the normal recruiting schedule for banks is around the same time.

Have any international students heard back from SEO?
I applied on December 15. I was not even contacted for a phone interview.
I emailed/called them to find out. They said you will be notified by February 23. I guess I am out. :(

I asked my friend to apply with me. She applied for CF leadership program on December 14, had a phone interview on December 17, and got accepted for in-person interview. Slots were available even in December. But she wants to have it in February as she used to be a Biology Major, and just recently switched to Econ Major.

Thank you for applying to the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity Career Program. The Admission Committee has not yet made a final decision on your application at this time. Please know that based on your interview you are a very competitive applicant and are still in consideration for a summer internship position.

We also encourage you to continue your industry research and to keep current on industry news. We will continue review of your application in conjunction with the next round of applicants and you should be receiving notification from us soon. A further decision on your application will be made by the close of our final round notification, March 22, 2008.

Please also continue to notify us of any changes in your status, grades or offers received from SEO partner firms. We appreciate your patience and will contact you shortly with updates on your application status.

who was invited for a third round interview then asked to reschedule for that interview and then waitlisted? what is SEO's deal? they gotta get their act together

I applied during the first round, phone interviewed in mid november and then got an email yesterday saying I had been waitlisted.....no in person interview yet or even invitation for an in person interview....weird

anyone have a similar experience or even know what's going on??

So whats the deal with rounds (first, second, third) with respect to interviews? I applied first round, and had my in person interview (Bay Area) on Wednesday, and got my waitlist notification yesterday. Am I first round? Because people had interviews way earlier.

I had the same experience as you, blinxbuckles. I think that they're having a huge difficulty getting companies to give them intern spots. In fact, recruiting's been a real downer at my school this year and not many people have been getting offers (and we're a target school too!)

Have any sophomores been accepted or even waitlisted? I applied way back in November and didn't hear anything until I checked the website a few days ago and found out I'd been rejected.
