September 2010 ACT English Discussion

^^ “to” is wrong. If you remember, “throughout” was also an answer, which is similar to across.

@abc

the answer choice was “:as a result”, which is wrong.

but it would have read the lights werent as spectacular; as a result, the comet was further from earth

that doesnt make sense because it would be reversed, correct? the lights were not spectacular as a result of the comet being further

but at the same time i did not feel the “lights were as spectacular: the comet was further” was correct either

^i don’t remember but i know i had the right answer. You are overthinking it. It required an understanding of a very basic principle

Hey guys, what did you put for “shimmering, colored lights”? : PPPP

oh sorry i thought you put the one with just the :

i chose the “as a result” one also!

Hahaha. Was this one from June?

On an other note, who else thought the Writing Prompt was extremely easy to respond to? I don’t think we’re allowed to discuss the prompt itself, though…

Yes, haha. It was one of the highly debated ones.

^and we’re allowed to discuss the questions?

@acttester, we’ve broken the rules so much by now that there is no hope of turning back. The prompt was really easy to respond to, but i blanked out and didn’t have time for a good conclusion. Still going for a 11-12 though

It was shimmering, color lights, wasn’t it?

Or was it…

There was a question similar to the dire/critical one. Oneof the options was “accommadation,”, which is also what i put as one of my answers.

lolllllll gravi

I put accommodation and I put critical. Are both right?

Don’t remember that questoin.

JDE–i guess that’s right. The other choices, although i don’t remember them, didn’t make sense.

Well critical made sense to me. Accommodation was about the bike passage. The bike lane was an accommodation to bikers.

How many missed in English is a 32?

English is generally 4 miss=32 depending on the curve. This English was slightly easier, so, I wouldn’t be surprised with -4 = 31.

sorry if this was already answered, but anyone remember the question reinvent of himself : it created legacy or something like that. Was it no change or …?
