^ Ohhhhhhh, was it the Houdini one that said “talent for self-promotion”?

I think it was one of the last houdini questions

What about the question:

one can lock one’s bike (no change)
everyone can lock their bike
riders can lock their bike
you can lock your bike

I chose riders but not sure

you can lock I think.

Also for that english woman one did you guys put:
From x to y, Frankie, an english woman,

yeah you are right for the english women

but for my question, isn’t “you” wrong because the tone of the essay never suggested “you”

Incorrect. If you read the second half of the sentence, he uses “you”. The sentence is in 2nd person.

I’m 100% sure it is “you.” At first I put “riders,” but then I noticed that the subject you appears later in the sentence.

yeah i saw the you at the second half of the sentence but what I’m saying is that the passage talked about the bikers as a whole and not specifically about “you”

so shouldn’t it have been riders or everyone?

I believe this question asked which choice would NOT be acceptable, so the answer was “to.”

@high_jumper: You’re right that the passage generally was not in second person, but the author decided to switch to second person randomly and you had to notice that to get it right.

@abc and airfreshner

still unclear about the ;as a result, or simply the colon
i thought “;as a result” reverse the meaning and at the same time the colon one just seemed wrong. is there a consensus at the answer?

^^ I was referring to “to” being wrong in the context, not the wrong answer :p

EDIT: I put the colon. “;as a result” doesn’t make sense.

oh dang it! I put “riders”

Okay guys, Most likely I will retake in October for another try. This time im studying hardcore.

Twas pretty easy. Had a couple issues with some of the questions about commas but that was about it.

Who remembers the question that was about correcting something like " , but not"? I don’t remember the exact question but I debated whether the common was necessary for awhile.

i used the colon too, anyone else? “;as a result” or colon?

as a result was the wrong awnser. It was an except question so it was the rigth awnser. It couldn’t have been as a result the colors or something like that

^ the semicolon doesn’t make sense at all. It’s not logically correct with it. How was it an except question?

also do we have a consensus on moreover? i don’t remember if i put moreover or an… i remember considering that moreover didn’t fit in the context of the paragraph… but idr

thoughts?

We have 10000000000% on moreover.

It was an EXCEPT question.

pretty sure it was moreover

anyone remember that houdini question, asking houdini reinvented himself? he reinvented himself; it was no change option and reinvented himself; which was another choice
