@ivyrunnernyc- You are correct in that the Red book has Real ACT tests. But they are old. I suggest students finish the Red Book, and then move on to released tests from 2013/2014/2015.
@anBoa122
Here are the distributions for the science test. These changes went into effect last summer (2014).
Data Representation (30-40%). 12-16 questions. Old distribution was 15 questions/3 passages.
Research Summaries (45-55%). 18-22 questions. Old distribution was 18 questions in 3 passages
Conflicting Viewpoints (15-20%). 6-8 questions. Old distribution was 7 questions.
Hi everyone, I guess I’m part of this group. I took my first practice test last week (yeah I know I’m late), and scored a 30. I want to escalate that to a 33 by September.
How much have you guys studied (hours, # of practice tests, etc.), and how much did you improve by?
Idk if you are allowed to post google drive stuff here, but I have a google drive folder consisting of around 30 real ACT practice tests. Some don’t have answers but you can search them up online by just typing the year and form #. They range from 2009-2014. PM if you’re interested
@HereToHelpYou you is right. You can delete your score, and not have it sent to colleges, but your HS will still get it. I did this. My HS put the ACT on the transcript, so you want to make sure it is deleted there too.
Once you request in writing that you want to permanently Delete your score, ACT will Delete it. Then ACT will notify your high school that the score is no longer valid. But you should follow up with your high school to make sure it was in fact Deleted from the school records.
How are you guys preparing for the ACT science? It seems to me that it’s the hardest section of the whole ACT. I usually miss 8-12 questions on it and it’s p*ssing me off, lol. I have tried not reading the passage and moving straight on to the questions but it seems that I don’t understand the passage itself. All the other sections I do well at, but it’s just the science that I have trouble with. Any more tips?
