Seriously can I get into Cornell University with 1750 SAT + 75 TOEFL?

Hi guys. I am a desperate Chinese with really low standardized test scores: SAT 1: 1750; SAT 2---Math 1: 700, Math 2: 700; TOEFL 75. (Plus I need full financial aid.) Do you know anyone with the same stats getting into Cornell and other Ivies (I am also applying to Harvard, Yale, Penn Wharton, Brown, Stanford.)

My essays are really unique---I worked hard on them.

Several points.
1. You are probably a long shot anywhere. Most people i’ve met got at least a 2000 on the SAT. The better question is if YOU know anyone who got in with those scores.

I don’t think that Cornell is particularly good with international aid. Brown may be better, but they are equally hard to get in to.

Just because you worked really hard on your essays doesn’t mean that they are necessarily good or unique. You might want to get another person’s opinion on them, one way to do this is to show them to people on the College essays section of this forum. If that doesn’t offer you helpful enough feedback, you could make use of an essay editing service (there are hundreds of these out there, one that comes to mind as reputable is [Gurufi](http://■■■■■■■■■■)).

I wish you luck, but I also hope that you have some backups lined up so that you are not in trouble come April.

Judging on your TOEFL score, you are auto-rejected by Cornell, seriously. And by many other schools too, let alone the Ivies. Lacking the competence in English will only cause you lots of troubles surviving in a foreign country, let alone studying, and the admissions committee completely understand that.
Btw, I know there are a lot of Chinese whose scores are way better, and they still got rejected by some top schools.

The thing is cornell has been known to deny ppl who apply to alot of Ivy leagues. Ive also talked with the admissions personally. And they seemed to emphasize that alot. But in the end u seem to have a good chance

Wow, you bumped a really old topic. BTW, I think this was a ■■■■■, since this post ( http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/891704-do-not-let-anything-discourage-you-applying-stanford-2.html#post10086979</a> ) says they got accepted to Harvard, Brown, and Stanford. Not that I think such a thing is impossible at any single one of those, but an over-represented ethnicity, combined with no mentioned stellar EC’s, a 1750 SAT and 75 TOEFL will not get into all of those schools at once.
