Any reports as to when the Class of 2011 will be notified of their service?

2 yrs. ago my NROTC S found out in Nov. I thought that was when all midshipmen(USNA and NROTC) found out.

Thanks PackMom

I think “Service Selection” is in the middle of November. Ship and assignment selection for those going SWO is sometime in February. Accepted or Rejected for initial service choice I don’t know. Daughter will not be at Academy for service selection and has to do it ASAP on the net “like yesterday”. Don’t know what she chose. Was leaning MC but who knows! When do they tell us anything.

Thanks AF6872, ya I think my son had his in the past weekend or last.

What is your daughter up to that she would miss it? You don’t have to say just curious or you could PM me or not.

My 1/C Mid said USNA slid service selection to Dec. Some 1/C’s already know something (early select for sub’s, early rejection from EOD, etc.).

At University in Beiging as a Chinese Major. Will not be “home” for Service Selection. They are all looking forward to the Marine Corps Ball. It is supposed to be the best. I think hosted by the 1st Battalion, 4th Marines “The China Marines”. I think that unit was there during the Boxer Rebellion?

Sorry, first Shanghai in 1927 so missed the Boxer Rebellion.

That’s really neat AF, smart girl -not an easy language(s)/dialects!!

Thanks NothernCALMother, I wonder why they are looking at Dec.

Interesting NorthernCalMom, two years ago S was selected for EOD in Nov. and had no idea prior to that whether he would be selected or rejected. We were on pins and needles right up 'til Service Selection day.

Ditto December notification for USNA '11.

They only learn Standard Mandarin Chinese and no dialects (there are so many). The Characters are the hard part and reading the newspapers seems to be tough but they are all working their way through. There are students from all across the US and many schools. Her roommate was all excited the other day when we were on Skype and she could understand all the english. She might have trouble with Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts or Alabama.

hmmm nrotc gets their assignments for communities very soon…apparently the board met 1 oct, so we’ll see

Thank You 1390.

AF6872-I understand, I was born and raised in Ct for my 1st 22yrs and have lived in Alabama for the last 30 or so… haha

cga …yall’ve been blessed!

Consider Connecticut’s current political mess. What kinda crowd’d elect a man who claimed consistently for over 5 years …that he’d served in a war he’d never seen!

No candidate running against him ever looked at what he had been saying or questioned him on it. That could be said about many politicos in any state.

ah, so it’s the opponents resposibility to confirm and correct a gubernatorial candidates blatant and chronic lies? hmmm …AirForce must impose a bit different code of honesty than I’m accustomed to …but hey, anything goes now. And besides, as you’ve noted, everyone does it.

I know, Blumenthal simply “mispoke” …again and again and again. Wonder if anyones will now hold him accountable for this newly invented lie. Er excuse me…his latest “misspoke.” Wouldn’t just an honest “spoke” work better?

Nah, it’s Connecticut. Let’s just hope and pray that CT Mids have somehow learned to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. What a novel notion …

No! It is the responsibility of the press covering his many public appearances to question his comments. They never questioned him since he was their darling. Someone finaly called him on his statements. He has been playing in the small pond of AG elections. He is now in the real world of Senate election and being chalenged. Like one of our neighboring Senators he never met a camera, mike, or big headline issue he didn’t like and God help you if you got in the way. He is running for Senate not Governor. If someone says they are a Viet Vet how can I or any other voter have the resources to check the credentials. I think our Mids admirably represent our State. We had thirteen this last year from a very small State.

Too funny. Don’t leave out Chris Dodd…

WP, we are blessed to have guys like Sessions,Shelby and Bonner(and at one time Jerry Denton, who is from here much older now but very approachable-everyone should read his book “When Hell Was In Session” true hero). The folks here very much support our guys and gals and aren’t afraid to let ya know it!

AMEN Alabama! And this from a NitWit Lion …

GREAT BOOK! GREATER MAN!!

Here’s to the queen of WWF! Didn’t she clean Blumenthal’s bloomers with her concise answer to how to create jobs!!! “Entrepreneurs ID a product or service that the public needs/wants and can be sold for more than it costs to produce. And when these people do this …they create jobs!” And Blumie mumbled on for about a minute and a half about how government creates jobs …ah huh. Yea, censor takers and IRS agents to make sure you and I report our benefits and buy the gov’t’s “free” health insurance.

November 3rd’s coming …all Americans must come to the aid of our nation, now!
