Seven Year Medical Program

<p>Hey, does anyone know about Northwestern's seven year medical program right after high school. How many people get into it? Is it really competitive? Is there a certain grade point average you need to get in? Thanks. :)</p>

<p>I don't really know much about HPME, but I don't think there's a certain GPA you need. It is very competitive, that much I know.</p>

<p>There are like 40 people per year, and it is one of the most difficult programs to enter in the university. While you don't need a perfect GPA to be admitted, I'd suggest it come darn close...</p>

<p>heh i don't know if this is a myth or not, but i heard that in order to even receive an application, you have to have a certain GPA/sat score ...</p>

<p>That’s what they say…. But nobody seems to know those reqs are. There is a separate application for HPME that asks for SAT2 scores, GPA, etc…</p>

<p>i pretty much think it's nearly impossible to make it into that program unless you're the top 1% in your class and have almost perfect scores and GPA. It's extremely competative and there's even a pre application that they must approve for you to actually apply there it's crazy.</p>

<p>yeah, the average SAT math score for the med program is around 780, and the avg. verbal score is about 760, or something like that. Around 40 people get selected out of a few hundred..so..you basically have to be god.</p>

<p>you don't have to be god necessarily lol but yes, there is a prescreening with only your test scores. I'm in it so I can answer any questions. BUT before you do, don't be annoying and ask questions people have already answered...
