She got a course catalog today--I assume she's in

D received her likely notification, then the letter from a student, and today, she got a course catalog. We (her parents) received a letter from the Alumnae Assn yesterday. However, she still hasn't been told she's accepted. Is this the usual way things are done? We've heard absolutely nothing from any other college (she applied RD to all of them and did not apply for FA, so no contact with the finance office either), so it is a relief to know that she's probably in at Wellesley.

If she received a likely letter in EE, she’s more or less admitted, barring failing out of school, etc. Just receiving a course catalog isn’t an indicator since that’s a marketing effort all schools use to keep people interested in applying. However, based on your daughter’s likely letter, you should be able to breathe easy…though I know it’s hard to do that until you see the Congratulations.

I know this sounds really elementary but is she logging into the Wellesley admissions site to check her status? I don’t recall that they sent an actual acceptance letter; notification was electronic.

Yes, she keeps trying, but their portal is jammed up at the moment, since decisions were just released. However, she did find out she got into Bryn Mawr, so at least there’s one certainty!

Good luck. Do let us know how it turns out!

Congratulations on your D’s acceptance at Bryn Mawr. It’s a wonderful school. May she get good news from Wellesley too.

And she’s in! She still isn’t sure where she wants to go, but it’s a relief knowing she won’t have to do a gap year!

I’m so anxious to get home and see if I received a course catalog now! (I’ve been out of town this week.)

Yay! Congratulations to your daughter! Feel free to post about what schools she’s looking into. We’re all happy to weigh in on pros/cons of each
