Should/Can I wait to send SAT scores?

I got a 2250 (800 math, 760 writing, 690 reading) on my SAT in June, and I took the October SAT just a few days ago. My question is whether I can, and whether I should, wait to send the October scores to schools.

I'm thinking that my scores might not be as good as they were on my last test date, so it could hurt me to send them in. If I wait until October results come back, I will be able to see if anything improved, and THEN decide whether or not to send them in.

HOWEVER, I am applying under Early Action for MIT, as well as some other top engineering schools, and the deadline for Early Action is November 1st.

So if I wait to see my October SAT scores, would I be too late to send my October scores in, since the Early Action deadline (Nov.1) will have passed?

Thanks for the help :)

Everything I have read indicates that the October test scores can be sent after receiving them and received by the schools in time for Nov. 1 deadlines. If in doubt, email the admissions office/ your counselor and ask. Call and ask if you don’t want to be identified with an email. Since they are sent electronically - they will arrive in time - that’s what I’ve read. YOu also need to check the school’s policy - and see if the require ALL scores to be submitted. Some do, even with “score choice.”

Thanks!

Didn’t realize the scores came back just days before the deadline :)

Yea the scores come back October 29th. However…I’ve heard CB takes awhile to process. So would the scores reach MIT by the EA deadline?

Nov 1 app deadline at MIT is not the deadline for test scores. You can wait to send when they come out end of October. In fact, MIT accepts scores through the November test date for early action

Ah, I wanted the answer to this question too – for some reason, in my threads, I just had poor wording or just lack of response!

Thanks everyone.

Thanks!! 10char
