Thank you for reading, i have been struggling with myself since spring break about appealing or not, debating wether i have something solid or COMPELLING to appeal about. So i have decided to ask for your opinion on this matter

stats--
weighted 3.5 GPA
unweighted with a 3.3
ranked 56 with 3.83 GPA(don't know why)
1720 SATI
680 World History 1 and 720 Math LvL2
took 2 Ap classes: Calc AB at school (4) and Stats at City college
EC
won some sports medals and have done 200+hours of volunteer work
first generation college student

anyway my total score was 200 points away from the break off

i had a low grade in 10th grade due to me taking two math classes at the same time* Geo H, and Avd Alg H* and my father loss his job so i was thinking going to City and be less of a burden(which i didn't include on my application)

i also wondered if i appealed, would i have a low to zero chance in housing?

Hmm...honestly, I don't think there is enough for an appeal. Your SAT II scores are pretty solid, and volunteer hours are awesome. But SAT I score is sort of low. And since your total score was 200 points away, I think it's very unlikely that you'll get admitted. Don't worry! I'm sure everything will work out for you anyway! :)

yeah, my friend and my econ teacher told me the same thing(well they said my reason was not really COMPELLING)
i just needed someone to confirm/ consolidate their+mine opinion

Have any significant changes happened senior year?
Did you retake SATs?
What's your senior GPA?

I'd say try if you really want to get into UCSD, because if you try, you'll have 50% chance of getting in (in or not). Also, if you don't try, you might regret it later on and would always wonder if you would've gotten in or not on appeal.

How did you know your score was 200 pts off? Do you have the conversion chart?

i think it would be a waste of time appealing. i mean you only took one ap class (cc classes dont count as an ap) and your sat score is pretty low. plus a 3.5 gpa isnt bad but it isnt stellar either
