Should I apply EA or RD

I'm a senior this year and Tulane is one of my top schools I'm looking at but I'm concerned that my gpa will get me denied.

I have a 3.26 UW G.P.A and a 3.52 W.
I took the ACT in June and got a 30. 35 on reading
My freshman and sophmore years I never even though about college and took regular classes but by junior year took 3 APs and am currently taking 5 APs.
Ive taken
AP Chem
AP US History(4) on the exam
AP Lan (4) on the exam

Currently taking AP Stats, Honors French III, AP Euro, AP Psych, AP Lit, AP Gov't

I pan on majoring or minoring in eithier pol. science, French, History
I'm Haitian and I speak English, French, and Creole. I plan on learning Chinese.
I've excelled in my French class and have gotten Honor Awards and a GHP Nominee in the area of French.

I volunteer at my Local Library and for the Atlanta Track Club a lot
I love to read books. Currently I'm reading There Eyes Were Watching God and Don Quixote to name a few.
I'm very politically active and have campaigned for local elections.

So do you think I fit in the Tulane sphere or if there are any other schools you think I should look at?

I'm also going to apply to American U., maybe Colgate, UM, Gardner-Webb, USF. I'm currently still looking at more colleges I could be interested in.
But if I can get accepted and then the financial means to Tulane there is no other place I would prefer.

Colgate is need-aware, and would be a stretch for a full payor with your stats. 'Gate does meet full financial need if you are accepted. Tulane does not meet 100% of financial need.

But, yes you should apply and early. A lot of high stat kids were deferred in the RD pool.

Alright thanks bluebayou. I’m going to their fair on Sep. 16 to ask them further questions and get close and personal. The only reason why I havent finished the app for Tulane is because i’m not sure if it would be smarter for me to apply early or regular. Anyhow I’ve looked at this school the past year and the pros heavily outweight the minimal cons.

I would add that you have a good story to tell, that you realized a bit later than many students that you wanted to make education a priority. Once you made that commitment, it looks like you really got things going. I think you have a decent shot, but financial aid could be an issue. Just have to see.

Not to be critical, but your original post has a lot of typos. It is very important that you make sure your app and essay are error free in this regard. Have them checked by someone you trust to do a good job at this.
