Should I apply EA?

Hey guys, I know chances belong in chances forums but whatever, I want opinions from people actually going to UM. The chances forum is pretty harsh anyways.

So I got my SAT scores back today and I can't decide whether I should apply EA or wait to re-take it and then apply RD.
Note: I want to apply for preferred admissions as well.

OOS
GPA: 92.05 UW ( school doesn't give it on a 4.0 scale)
SAT: 2030 (My schools average SAT is only 1200, I don't know if that would help or harm me)
Subject Tests: None taken yet
Ethnicity: Asian/Indian
AP: Currently taking 1 and it is my only one. I signed up for 4 over 11th and 12th grade (4 is the maximum anyone can take at my school) but due to schedule problems I was never put in any of them except 1. I have taken about 10 honors class's, which is the maximum I could've taken.

I am sure the recommendation letters will be great, I know the teachers writing them pretty well and I am sure they won't put anything bad.

ECs (they suck I don't hold any leader positions):
National Honor Society 10th, 11th, 12th
Varsity Soccer 11th
Yearbook committee 11th, 12th
Indian Youth Council: 10th 11th 12th
A religious program at an Indian temple (don't know if I can list this one as an EC): 9th 10th 11th
Small investment in stock market (again not sure if I can list this one): 12th
120 hours of volunteering

Please let me know if I forgot anything and thank you!

I’m also applying to UofM this year, and while I’m not an expert chance-r by any means you should DEFINITELY apply for EA. I’m an in-state student, so I do get a lot of information about UofM and their admissions (also have quite a few relatives that attend there now, as well as many teachers who have children there and are helping me along the way). You are more likely to be accepted if you apply EA rather than just regular decision.

First and foremost, yes, apply EA. Second, with all of those credentials you should be able to make it in with no problems. The only thing I am unsure about is your GPA. If that is just you average grade in your classes then you should be good as that is in the range of 3.7-4.0 on a 4 point scale.

Yea my school doesn’t grade on a 4point scale. Thanks for the support guys!

Good luck on your app cyu. Are you also applying for preferred admission by any chance?
