JHU is obviously an awesome school, and I've always thought about going there. My credentials are alright, and I think I'd have an O.K chance, but the tuition is a huge factor. I'm a VA Resident, and going to UVA or VTech (based on where I can get in) would be a lot more affordable for me. Though JHU is great on grants and stuff, I'd still end up getting a way better deal at either UVA or VTech.

However, as I plan on attending Med School, I'm going to be in major debt anyway. Should I apply to JHU or go with UVA or VTech (Both schools that I'm very fond of).

Thanks for the help:)

Are you considering ED?

Nope. I don’t want to be tied down to somewhere that I can’t even afford. How “good” are their financial packages?

Packages are the same in ED and RD so they won’t offer you more or less. If you can’t afford it then ED agreements can be broken in that case.

But only ED if it’s your first choice. Otherwise, your shot is probably the same as everyone else… 1 in 5 in an exceptional pool.

As a warning, Hopkins Pre-med is very difficult and challenging. If you’re willing to work very hard then give it a shot. But it will provide a basis for a very good medical school if you do well.
