I really want to got to UF but im scared that my gpa and grades are not good enough.
Should i stress about it? Even though I know i cannot do anything about it now, i just really want to go there! i have a 3.6 gpa. I had 3 c's last year and some other years. I'm in IB by the way and it has been pretty hard for me. Also, would anyone be willing to read my essay and tell me if it was good enough to get me in?

What is DONE IS DONE. Your grades, scores and essay are submitted. You cannot change any of that. Decide what qualities you like about UF and find other schools with similar qualities to apply to a few of those schools. College is what you make it.

There’s so many factors that figure in to it, there’s really no telling what decision you’ll get. To me a 3.6 from IB would be good, but it also depends pretty heavily on test scores. IF it’s consolation, I know people at UF with lower credentials then you (My roommate had a lower GPA from IB, and a like a 1200 on his SAT.

There’s nothing more you can do, I suppose if you’re religious you can pray. The best of luck to you!

My GPA is a lot lower than yours, and I am in IB as well. Admissions seem really random for IB students, and then people in traditional classes are admitted that have lower stats. Sigh, its almost as if our hard work does not pay off in the end.

yes, unfortunately :(

but i have a high ACT score (:
@UF4ME2 we have the same birthday!! how cool lol

UF does seem to look at the whole package, which is why its hard to tell if you will get in, there is no one golden number.

-lower grades + great consistent volunteer work offset each other…
-showing a long term trend of each year doing better than the previous and selecting hard classes shows commitment…

keep in mind they want people that WANT to be there AND that they believe will do well without hand holding; they certainly make it clear they are not interested in picking up “high maintenance” students.

My neighbor’s daughter had borderline stats for FSU. Her principal called the adcom and told her what a fabulous kid she was (she really is). She did not lie but did speak to her strengths. What are yours? Why should UF select you over thousands of other kids? What will you bring to the campus? What does UF have that interests you so much? Figure out these answers and then discuss them with your GC, principal, IB coordinator or someone at your school who knows someone in Admissions. Convince them to call on your behalf. Don’t forget to send a thank you note (not email) to the caller.
