Should I be worried?

I applied in mid-September and I have yet to hear from Michigan State. A lot of my friends with similar or better grades and ACT have heard back from MSU within the past two weeks and all have been accepted. I go to a relatively competive suburban Detroit school. My GPA is around a 3.5 with a 26 ACT. I have taken a lot of AP and Honors classes which they don't weight. I am just anxiously awaiting the notice if I have been accepted. Where should I look first on their decision, my mailbox, e-mail or on-line?

Based on my son’s experience, I’d say online at https://admissions.msu.edu/portal/.

I wouldn’t be worried at all. There seems to be little rhyme or reason to how MSU responds. Those are pretty solid stats, although if they’re limiting the size of their freshmen class given last year’s incredibly large freshmen class, then you might be deferred (although I doubt it).

It’s been too long since I was accepted, so I recommend going with Steve’s advice :).

this just means they are more thoroughly reviewing your application. i submitted in september and got accepted within a week, but theres also people who got deferred within that short of time as well. msu is deferring a lot of overly qualified people this year though.

the admissions are actually getting harder this year, ik someone that didnt get in with a 3.8 gpa 1900 or something sat score

i just got my acceptance letter for fall 2012
my stats:
3.4 gpa
26 act
lots of community service, varsity football (won award), varsity lacrosse, and track, and a few clubs
