Okay...so I applied on December 30 and supposedly I should get a call from an alumni interviewer but I haven't yet. March 1 is the deadline for submitting alum interviews. Should I call the local alum office now and ask, or just wait it out?

I've heard Yale usually calls later than the other Ivys....or at least I hope that's the case because I haven't been contacted either....

I called, and now I'm getting an interview. What's there to lose?

I think I just might. I sent in my app in early December, and am still awaiting that phone call. I've already had my interviews with the other two Ivies I applied to.

Hah, just got an e-mail (no phone call?? ***!) from an ASC guy. He says the interview's going to be 75 minutes long.
that's....kinda...long....

When I applied EA in 2003, I didn't get an interview. When I called the ASC coordinator for my area after I was deferred, I discovered that the person that was assigned to interview me never got around to contacting me and they assigned me to a new person. If you are good with interviews, wait until the deadline has passed and if you still haven't been interviewed, call your ASC coordinator. If interviews make you nervous/you don't knock them out of the park every time/you aren't in the mood, don't bother calling, because unless your interview is great it won't help you at all and it might even hurt you. Yale understands not everyone can get interviewed and it isn't a reflection on you if they don't get an interview report.

It all has to do with where you live. If u have a lot of alumni in your area, then chances are they're going to call you for an interview earlier than if there is a shortage of alumni interviewers in your area.
