<p>I took the math level 1 subject test today, (decided before I knew it was basically pointless) and I didn't do as well as I should have because of multiple distractions. I feel fairly confident I got either a 740 or a 750 and I've read throughout these forums that >750 is preferable when it comes to Ivy League admissions and that's the caliber of school I hope to apply to. I know that I could have gotten a perfect score without distractions, so my question is: should I cancel my test scores?</p>
<p>I have a few options, I think:
1) Let my test be scored and use score choice if it's not high enough (though I'm afraid schools will still be able to see all of my scores)
2) Cancel my test scores
a) Retake the math level 1 subject test in the fall
b) Wait until next year to take the math level 2
c) Take other subject tests instead (I'm already planning on taking Lit and U.S. History)</p>

<p>I think you should go for 3) keep the test score because either 740 or 750 isn’t bad, and 4) study for math 2 without taking 1 again because math 2 actually isn’t hard if you study + I believe it’s marked more leniently (curve-wisely).</p>
<p>Why not wait and see what the actual score is, you can alway retake it in the fall if you are far below a 740. Will you take a science SAT II as well?</p>
<p>fauve, no, I don’t plan on taking a science SAT II. Neither math nor science is my “favorite” subject and I’m just taking the math tests to show breadth. I just can’t imagine myself flipping through the pages of a chemistry practice booklet haha. I might reconsider after two years of physics, but I don’t forsee it.</p>
<p>jasonInNy, I think I’m just going to see what I get first. Upon reconsideration, I realized my admission into an ivy league school probably doesn’t hinge on 10 points on 1 SAT subject test. Thanks for helping though :)</p>
