Should I change up my wardrobe?

Haha, I understand completely. I’m also excited to buy some preppier attire for boarding school:) I doubt that other BS students would “condemn” you if you wear something from Vineyard Vines. Loads of boarding school students wear similar brands. As many of the other commenters have stated- why would you want to be friends who judges you by what you wear anyway?

Don’t buy anything too ostentatious or provocative because BSes have pretty strict dress codes- and anyway, you wouldn’t want to have such a reputation. I, myself, am going to purchase more dresses and proper dress shoes this summer.

^^Exactly what I’m buying @boardingschoolx, minus the shoes, because according to my parents, I already have far too many. I’m probably going to just buy a pair of sneakers, and some nice wedges and flats, and flip-flops (of course!). As for the dresses, I’m going for Lilly, I absolutely love their summer dresses, and maybe a few skirts from A&F, Hollister, and Urban Outfitters, which actually look really pretty, and not at all provocative, like some of the other clothing from the aforementioned stores. :slight_smile: I’m just worried I won’t have time, because like I stated above, we are coming back from vacation one to two weeks before school starts, and I, knowing myself, will probably spend at least two of those days just packing…

@bonjourhello Lilly Pulitzer is a great choice! :)

I agree, the quality is great, and the clothes themselves look great as well. What’s your favorite print?

Sorry to interject here, but Lilly is my life lol. I collect it!

@exeterbunny He he he…

@exeterbunny hahaha how can you collect Lilly? Do you buy one thing of each print or something? Cool! I don’t mind because I collect koozies, and now my friends think I’m weird… :smiley: :)>-

I collect socks from Bar/Bat Mitzvah parties! Bar Mitzvah season is over for me, though…

I remember there was this phase I went through (in 2nd grade) where I would “collect” rocks. Everytime I went out to the park to play, I would come home with a ziplock full of rocks and pebbles. It used to drive my mother crazy, because she would have to take all the rocks out while doing laundry. Even now, I find occasional rocks and pebbles in ziplocks scattered around my house… :smiley:

I went to overnight camp one summer when my mom had surgery, and one of my bunkmates slept with a rock collection under her pillow. Counselors weren’t thrilled.

That must have been seriously uncomfortable…

I collect acceptance letters. Unfortunately, I don’t have that big of a collection.

Rejection letters, on the other hand, I have more than enough of…

@stargirl3 How did they find out?

@boardingschoolx aww it’s okay. You can always apply next year. What schools did you get accepted to though?

@bonjourhello I don’t remember. It was probably bunk clean-up and someone must’ve moved her pillow or something.

@bonjourhello St. Paul’s & Milton, so I’m extremely fortunate nonetheless.

@stargirl3 ohh that makes sense…

@boardingschoolx that’s great! I was actually rejected at Milton and didn’t even apply for St. Paul’s (not Christian & my parents didn’t want me to go to a Christian affliated school. Thought I’d convert or something :)>- )

@bonjourhello SPS is affiliated with the Episcopal church but it is not a church centered school. There are kids of all religions attending St. Paul’s but I understand your parents’ decision. What school are you going to go to again?

@bonjourhello Can you post your decisions on the spreadsheet?

Well, I’m not sure yet…I don’t even know if I want to board…
