Should I choose a school I dislike over one I like because of its academic rep?

I am a junior transfer going for business and its between the Kelley school at Indiana and the Terry school at UGA.

I love UGA but I don't know if it will be able to place me in my career of choice in NYC (where I am from).
I wasn't really feeling IU at all.. it didn't seem like a good fit, but the Kelley School will give me so many opportunities upon graduating. Where should I finish??

The Kelley school will be an extra semester and will put me an additional 20k in debt. UGA dropped my gpa from a 3.85 to a 3.76

Go where you will be happiest and can graduate with the least debt.

Indiana doesn't really have significantly more pull with NYC employers than UGA. If that's truly your priority, you'd be better off going to NYU, Fordham, Marist, or even Hofstra so you can do local internships and make connections while you're still in school. But, since it doesn't sound like staying local is in your plans, I say go where you will be happiest, instead of forcing yourself into a school you are lukewarm about.

The amount of student debt is an important consideration. The amount you have upon graduation may limit your job options. If you have less debt, you will be less likely to have to "settle" for a job you hate just to pay off your student loans. Good luck!

Terry is a great school. Not as good as Kelley, but certainly respected. Don't go somewhere you don't feel.. Go to UGA.

Happiness counts. If you like UGA better, go there.

I'd go with UGA, because the difference in reputation/prestige of the two schools is not big enough to justify spending 4 years in misery. Plus, I agree with Carolyn that neither school really has significant pull in NYC. No need to go into extra debt, either.

I did the same thing. I chose to attend College of the Holy Cross over better known Notre Dame because I preferred to stay in the greater Boston metropolotan area rather than be stuck in the middle of a nowhere dump in the middle of Indiana. Turned out to be the right decision for a lot of reasons.

No. Go where you will be happy.
