Should I contact the colleges I applied to and let them know I made Finalist?

<p>Hi! I just received my letter today confirming that I made Finalist standing! Should I email the colleges I applied to and let them know? (My apps say Semifinalist since that's all I knew when I applied).</p>

<p>Decisions for my top choice come out this Friday, and though they probably already decided by now... do you think it'd possibly help to let them know?</p>

<p>Most semis make it to finalist so I'm not sure how big of a difference it'd be to any of these schools lol. Though finalist is more "official." I have some Common App schools I'm supposed to hear from in late March/early April so maybe for those it'd be helpful?</p>

<p>Someone please advise me on this :) </p>

<p>I don’t think it will matter for admission. LIke you said, most NMSF make NMF. The schools should already have the information needed to make their own decision on your academic achievements. </p>

<p>If you are going for a school that offers more money to official NMF students, I would let them know from an aid standpoint.</p>
