Do i have any chance at northwestern? is there any other good economics schools someone could recommend for me that i could get into?

bump .

I think you should always apply someplace if you really like it and are not a total complete longshot at, which you are definitely not...so don;t worry, just apply..the worst you can do is get denied, which is nothing to be ashamed about because northwestern is soooo competitive. they only accept like 30% of VALEDICTORIANS!! but without a doubt apply, and u actually have a fairly decent shot

northwestern is big on interest. my friend who had a 3.67 got into their dual degree BA & MA program in economics, but he had some pretty damn impressive EC's, and solid AP, SAT's and SATII's, which you definitely lack. If you bring your SAT's up by about 100 points and your SAT II's by 100 points each you might have a better shot.

needless to say, demonstrate interest (it's kinda too late for that especially if you just found out about it) and apply. also, look at uchicago if you're into econ-- you can't beat #1

what are my chances for uchicago? i would imagine like reach or something but im not sure

As you stand now, you have no shot at either school. Your test scores are below the range for both Chicago and NU and you have no ECs (no offense or anything, I'm just being candid).

Raise your SATs 100-150 points and bring up the SAT IIs and you may have a chance.

if i take SAT I's again it'll be for the third time. doesn't that look bad or something?

yes it does look bad. look at other schools, you have pretty much no shot at nu or uchicago unless you're hiding something. but that isn't to say you shouldn't apply...

errr well i entered some essay contest in 10th grade and got honorable mention or something. i retook my SAT II's on saturday but unsure or the results. thanks for the input tho!
