Should I even apply to WashU?

Hi!

I’m a rising senior and I’ve been really interested in attending WashU in STL ever since I found about the school as a freshman. But my GPA is a major detriment to my application. While I like to think that the rest of my application is competitive. I currently have a cumulative 3.36UW and a 3.64W and I’ve taken 11 AP classes. I know my chances are absurdly low, so I was planning on applying ED to WashU this fall. I’ve done everything I can to show demonstrated interest(emails w my admissions officer, info sessions, campus visit, calls, forms, etc)But I’m starting to think that even with ED my chances are so low that it would be a waste of money. I want to hope that I can get in, but at the same time I want to be realistic. Is is worth it to apply WashU even with my absurdly low stats? Has anyone gotten it with these types of grades without being a recruited athlete or something similar?

Sorry for the long paragraph. I’m just getting really discouraged since I’m working on college apps.

What are your safeties?

If WUSTL is by far your top preference, then you should apply. However, your chances are IMHO not very good. You need to apply to at least two good safety schools.

Well since I’m a CA resident, my safeties are San Jose State, San Diego State, and San Francisco State

Why have you been really interested in attending Wash U since you were a freshman?

if you have some standardized test scores that are really high then that might make up for the GPA. Otherwise I am afraid you might be wasting your ED.
