I know my ecs are weak - I didn’t start a business or cure cancer or something.
I know I haven’t tested yet, but if I am going to apply, I need to know before the test results come out in January.
Well that lack of a cancer cure will really hurt you… No seriously, nobody on this board, not even our resident MIT admissions officer, can give anyone a meaningful chance. Your grades and scores are competitive enough to be meaningfully considered at which point they aren’t what gets you in anyway. I do have one question. MIT is loathe to accept anyone who has not yet exhausted their local opportunities. You say that you are a HS Junior. Are there no courses for you to take your senior year?
@jpm50 Yes for several reasons. First I will have maxed out math at my high school, second I do not have access to research opportunities in my field of interest, and third I want to challenge myself not just academically, but socially as well.
@KG5APR:
There are many discussions on CC about applying to college before one’s senior year. There are both pros and cons, which are important to understand beforehand. It’s right for some and a mistake for others. Well worth searching and reading.
