should I even bother?

I’ve been debating whether or not to apply to U Washington, Seattle, for so long now.

On the one hand, I really need to eliminate a school; its economics program doesn’t stand out; Atlanta to Seattle is a very long journey if (God forbid) an emergency ever arises at home; OOS tuition is steep and I don’t think I’ll be getting nearly enough aid, esp. at a state school
on the other… I love WA state, love the mountains, the weather, the city, and I can see myself taking day trips to the national parks and British Columbia… The school itself has a really great atmosphere, I’m extremely excited about the global health minor and quarters as opposed to semesters; the internship opportunities for development are wonderful; I think I have a very good chance of acceptance

I guess I’m torn between head and heart. I feel like I’d be betraying a dream if I don’t apply, but the $60 fee isn’t something to be squandered

Is it worth it? Any advice is much appreciated
thanks and blessings

If you can’t afford $50k/year, then it’s not worth it.

I say at least apply and see what financial aid you can get (unless you’re absolutely sure you won’t get enough).

Most OOS state schools don’t offer need-based aid, and UW is not known for generosity with merit aid.

^ The merit aid for OOS tops out at $7,500 per year for 4 years, I believe.

If you are certain you can’t afford it, move on.

Thanks, all
I believe that I wont’t be applying, but I’m will definitely be there at some point for grad school or to start my career

Another factor to consider is the application deadline: December 1, 2015.
