Currently, I’m at my third semester at CCC, and have three semesters left before I transfer. This semester I’m taking 14 units, and I contemplating on dropping my Intro to Networks class because most likely the grade I get in class will hurt my GPA. If I do drop my Networking class, I’ll only have 11 units. For my school that’s part-time, and I don’t even work. I made a mistake and didn’t even need to take this class. Only took it to learn some new topics, and pushed my P.E. class(GE requirement) for the summer. So, with 11 units will my chances be affected of getting into UC’s(particularly UCB, UCD)? It’s kinda stessin me out lol, would really appreciate the feedback. Thanks!
In the first few semesters at my CC I had no idea what I wanted to major in or what classes to take so I just tried to finish my GE. Long story short in the 3rd semester I started feeling a bit unmotivated and withdrew from a class, leaving me with 9 units for that semester and I wasn’t working either. I actually did not take a large amount of units until my last 4 semesters (at cc for 4 years) and overall had 2 W’s on my transcript. I literally just transferred to Cal this fall so I don’t you should stress about it too much. I would advise getting a W instead of a low grade any day.
Drop the course. UC’s do not care if you are part-time, full-time or anytime. They care about GPA’s. I had 4 W’s and being a part-time student does not matter.
