A little info on my situation: I’m a HS senior and just got into the CAS of both schools, with both giving me enough financial aid (major: possibly international relations/studies, but not sure). I’m from NYC (live about 25 min train ride from Washington Square Park), so if I go to NYU I wouldn’t be dorming.
Would not dorming at a school like nyu affect my social life? And overall, what are the pros and cons of going to each school? Thank you very much for any responses!
About 60% of NYU students do not live in college dorms. The College of Engineering is in Brooklyn, so students in that college housing are disconnected from the rest of the students in dorms on campus. NYU is just a different place.
They’re so different. BC isn’t in downtown Boston, it has its own campus. It is also a jesuit institution.
NYU is in downtown Manhattan, which is so energetic! But I think it would be hard to be a freshman at NYU and not be in the dorms. They don’t have a campus, it blends in with the city, so without a dorm I think it would be hard to bond with your classmates. I wonder what the percentage of freshman who don’t live in the dorm is?
